DEUS 3000 controlled descent device

3000 Series Controlled Descent Device

The DEUS 3000 Series represents a conceptual leap forward in personal controlled descent for bailout, rescue or tactical descent. Each is small enough to carry with you, making them personal systems providing reliable, hands-free controlled descent.

The DEUS 3000 Series is the top of the class with its superior safety, practical reliability, performance and versatility. Every device in the series features four redundant brakes for safety, versatility and control, with speed-limiting technology to guard against free-fall. Each is small enough to fit in a pocket, and rugged enough to stand up to extreme conditions.

Different Devices to Meet Your Different Needs

The DEUS 3000 Series includes a number of different devices for particular markets and applications:

DEUS 3100 designed for firefighters, for bailout and rescue.

  • Maximum rated descent distance: 100 ft (30 m)
  • Maximum descent speed with 300 lb load: 3 m/sec
  • Certification: NFPA "E"

DEUS 3200 - designed for military and law enforcement, for tactical descent and rescue. The centrifugal and drum brake assemblies are covered with a black polymeric coating that deadens sound and does not reflect light.

  • Maximum rated descent distance: 200 ft (60 m)
  • Maximum descent speed with 300 lb load: 3 m/sec
  • Certification: NFPA "E"

DEUS 3300 - designed for use on wind, electrical and telecommunications towers, for self-rescue descent from fall protection, personal evacuation and rescue. The control knob has a black polymeric band that insulates against heat during long descents.

  • Maximum rated descent distance: 330 ft (100 m)
  • Maximum descent speed with 300 lb load: 3 m/sec
  • Certification: NFPA "E"

DEUS 3700 - designed for use in industrial and commercial construction workers, for self-rescue descent from fall protection, assisted rescue and evacuation. The centrifugal and drum brake assemblies are covered with a black polymeric coating that deadens sound and does not reflect light.

  • Maximum rated descent distance: 500 ft (150 m)
  • Maximum descent speed with 350 lb load: 2 m/sec
  • Certifications: NFPA "E" and ANSI Z359

All DEUS 3000 Series controlled descent devices feature incredibly simple, hands free operation, built with the safety and reliability you expect from DEUS Rescue.

Features of the DEUS 3000 Series

DEUS 3000 Series devices have been engineered and manufactured to meet every need, every standard, every condition. The result is breakthrough technology that sets a new standard for escape and rescue...and much more.

Redundant Safety

All of the models in the DEUS 3000 Series have four redundant brakes for maximum safety, as well as extra versatility and control.

  • A drum brake with an infinitely variable control knob that lets you adjust descent speed with just two fingers.
  • A centrifugal brake that automatically controls descent speed to guard against free fall.
  • A figure-8 to provide hands-free, self-adjusting proportional braking throughout the rated load range of the device, for redundant safety.
  • A manual rope tailing brake for precise manual control of descent speed control your speed from complete stop to maximum speed, and everything in between, with just three fingers.

Reliability

DEUS 3000 Series devices are built for long life and reliable performance, time after time. Devices in the DEUS 3000 Series...

  • Use direct drive brakes - no fragile or complicated gears that can break down.
  • Utilize fully articulated centrifugal brakes to evenly distribute brake load across the brake surface for smooth, quiet and consistent performance.
  • Are constructed with full-contact brake pads that span the entire perimeter of the brake shoes to disperse load, for smooth performance and long life, even when used repeatedly.
  • Are built to last, with a machined, hard-anodized aluminum body, machined stainless steel one-piece drive wheel and integrated drive shaft, and stainless and brass elements in the centrifugal and drum brakes.
  • Are easy to maintain because the wear parts can be easily and quickly replaced; brake pads have a minimum design life of 1,000 descents over a distance of 300 ft with an average 220 lb load.

Performance

Its easy for a descent device to work under ideal conditions. But in the real world, controlled descent is often used in harsh conditions and under duress. Thats where the 3000 Series really stands apart. Every device is simple and intuitive, so you can use it properly and effectively every time. Every device in the series...

  • Features hands-free operation -  set the control knob to go and youre ready to go, hands free and at a safe speed for a soft landing.
  • Speed limited to guard against free fall - even at maximum speed, the DEUS 3000 Series controls descent to a maximum of 2 or 3 meters per second, depending on the model.
  • Can be set-to-stop or set-to-go, the choice is yours - set the control dial to go and evacuation is quick and painless - just anchor and go, and the system does the rest. Or, leave the control dial set to stop, anchor and go and you control your descent. Easy and safe, either way.

Versatility

Use a DEUS 3000 Series device for positioning, tactical descent, bailout, evacuation or rescue. Carry it pre-rigged and instantly ready for any of these uses:

  • Positioning. Descend manually or hands-free, then turn the control knob to "stop" to hold position, with your hands free to do your work.
  • Tactical operations. Because it operates hands-free, an operator can descend and use weapons simultaneously. Turn the control knob to "stop" to hold position hands-free.
  • Bailout. Connect a 3000 Series device to your harness and it is the perfect personal bailout tool. Just roll out and let go - fast, safe, simple and hands-free.
  • Evacuation. DEUS 3000 Series devices are completely reversible without re-rigging. Four people can be evacuated from a fourth floor window, one after the other, in less than one minute.
  • Rescue. Marry a 3000 Series to a DEUS anchor and a DEUS RTU (Rescue Transfer Unit) and you have a perfect rescue kit for any up, down or sideways emergency. The ability to switch from hands-free "stop" to hands-free "go" makes even complicated rescues simple and quick.
